Linen - 200gsm Stone 0.5m
Origin: Our European Flax® fibre is grown and processed in France, then woven and dyed in China.
Composition: 100% Linen, Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified.
Stone is our natural undyed colour way in our new 200gsm linen.
100% linen is a favourite for many of us as an easy-care, everyday garment fabric. Renowned for being an incredibly strong and durable fibre, our linen begins with a crisp hand that will soften with each wash.
Light, breathable, cool and comfortable. Linen is our go-to choice for relaxed shapes when creating elegant and timeless pieces.
Our 200gsm linens are a new weight for A+R that I've added especially for those projects that require a tad more structure and opacity. This weight still has a lovely fluidity to it, but will provide just a little more structure and generally won't require a lining. It's a great weight for pants, jackets, dresses, jumpsuits, shorts, skirts, tanks and blouses. Please feel free to order a swatch card to check the opacity, hand feel, colour and texture for this new range prior to purchase if required.
Please note: Monitor settings can change the way these colours are viewed on screen. A free swatch card for our 200gsm - 230gsm linen collection is available to help eliminate any guess work!
You can view the full range of 200gsm - 230gsm linens here, or if looking for a certain colour, check or stripe, our entire linen collection can be viewed here.
A Muna and Broad xxx springs to mind for this colour as does an Axis dress from Pattern Cut Patterns or a TNT Zadie jumpsuit from Paper Theory. I love this colours ability to pair with neutrals and bolds so the options of how to work it into your wardrobe really are endless.
We recommend washing this fabric before use in the same way you intend to care for your finished garments. Pre-washing will help remove any shrinkage before beginning your project.
If machine pre-washing, we do suggest a delicate cycle and using a gentle detergent to help retain colour vibrancy. Avoid detergents with optic whiteners, unless it's white linen!
Hand washing is the preference for most when caring for linen hand mades. This will help to retain the colour vibrancy and give you longevity for your garment. Alternatively, try reducing the amount of times you wash your hand mades wherever possible. The environment and your garments will thank you!
