Details

The Merino wool used for our jersey is 18.5 microns.  A Micron is the measurement used to describe the diameter of a wool fibre.  The finest gauge wool comes from Merino sheep which are considered to have some of the finest wool in the world, often measuring smaller than 24 Microns in diameter.  To give you an idea of how small that is, a human hair is on average around 100 Microns wide!

Our Merino jersey is RWS certified.  This means our wool comes from farms within Australia that have a progressive approach to managing their land, practice holistic respect for their animals and abide by non-mulsing practices.

This merino jersey is incredibly soft, and will work beautifully for garments that are to be worn against the skin, including babywear.

Make: Wondering what to create with this luxurious and incredibly comfortable jersey?  Any of your tried and true layering pieces would work beautifully in merino!  The new Seamwork Milo cardigan and the Mathilde wrap dress may be the first of many pieces I stitch up.

Care instructions: Please prewash this merino jersey in the same way you intend to care for your finished garment.  You can machine wash this jersey on a wool cycle in a cool temperature.  We suggesting using a PH neutral gentle detergent / wool wash wherever possible.  Avoid optic whiteners.

Line dry or tumble dry on low and remove just before completely dry.  Iron using the wool setting on your iron.  Although strong, Merino is a very fine fibre so please be careful not to wash with any zippers, jeans button's etc. as they can catch on your beautiful merino garments.

Please note: Monitor settings can change the way these colours are viewed on  screen.  A swatch card is available to help eliminate any guess work.

Beautiful Quality

I can highly recommend the Merino. Beautiful drape and easy to sew. I washed in wool wash before sewing a garment and it washed up so soft and cosy.
